When using DBT to teach emotional regulation skills, use a WWA session to track day to day client perceived level of depression, intensity of self injurious thoughts, and use of learned skills to regulate emotions. Based on the client’s response, follow-up with specific instructions such as reminding them of their DBT contract with you when they indicate a high level of self injurious thoughts.Â
